GREAT VEGETARIAN FOOD IN HELSINKI

Jos vielä pohditte ravintolavalintaa viikonlopulle, niin nyt seuraisi yksi vahva suositus. Ainakin tässä postauksessa kerroin teille, kuinka oltiin muutama viikkoa sitten testaamassa Iso Roban mäkkärin paikalle avattu Yes Yes Yes. Olin kävellyt paikan ohi kerran-pari, ja täytyy myöntää, että mut houkutteli ravintolaan ensisijaisesti hauska sisustus. Mutta suloisen sisustuksen lisäksi paikka osoittautui olemaan paljon muutakin.

In case you’re still wondering where to dine this weekend, I have a strong recommendation for you. I don’t know if you remember, but in this post I wrote how M and I tried out a restaurant called Yes Yes Yes a few weeks ago. I had walked by the place a couple of times and felt like giving it a chance mainly due to the fun decor. But, the place turned out to be a lot more than that.

Ruoka oli suussasulavan herkullista, ja me saatiin myös todella ystävällistä palvelua. Vasta pöytiin istuttuamme huomattiin kyseessä olevan kasvisravintola, ja jälkikäteen Yes Yes Yesin nettisivuilta päättelin, etteivät omistajat ole halunneet korostaa kasvisaspektia liiaksi markkinoinnissaan. He halusivat perustaa ravintolan, jossa “ruoka vain sattuu olemaan kasvista”.

The dishes were delicious and the waiters very friendly. We were already sitting down when we noticed that Yes Yes Yes is actually a vegetarian restaurant. Afterwards, I checked out the website of the place and understood that the owners didn’t want to bring up the vegetarian aspect of the restaurant too much in their marketing. They wanted to open a place where “food just happens to be vegetarian”.

Lunch date at Yes Yes Yes

Me tilattiin tarjoilijan suositusten perusteella neljä eri ruokalajia keskenämme jaettaviksi. Mun suosikiksi nousi tandoorileivälle tarkoitettu avokadoa, pistaasia, minttua ja basilikaa sisältävä dippi. Myös palmunsydänsalaatti vei kielen mennessään, ja se taisikin olla eka kerta, kun ylipäätään maistoin palmun ydintä. Alle oon vielä koonnut annokset, jotka me päädyttiin valkkaamaan listalta…

According to the waiter’s recommendation, we chose four dishes to be shared between us two. I guess my favourite was tandoori bread and especially the dip that had avocado, pistachio, mint and basil in it. I also loved the heart of palm salad, and our lunch date actually happened to be the first time I tasted the ingredient. Below, I’ve gathered all the four dishes we ended up choosing from the menu…

 Zucchini feta nuggets and lemon chili yoghurt
 Rigatoni, kuri squash, ricotta, pistachio pesto and burnt tomato
 Heart of palm, spinach, broccoli, parmesan, truffle and leek salad
 Tandoori bread and dip with avocado, pistachio, thai basil and mint

I’VE BEEN BRUNCHIN’
Approximately one week ago, I spent my Sunday morning in central Finland in Jyväskylä where my friend Anna lives. TEA TIME AT L’ADURÉE
So, finally we get to continue our Paris travel diary. This time, I've chosen these L'adurée photos to beautify this post. For our first night in Paris, we had chosen Semilla restaurant, situated in Saint-Germain-des-Prés area, as our go-to dinner place.
