Meillä on nyt niin kesällä kuin alkaneena syksynäkin ollut useammat toinen toistaan ihanammat häät. Viimeksi viikko sitten saatiin olla mukana viettämässä meille molemmille erittäin rakkaan M:n siskon hääjuhlaa Porvoossa. Lauantaina valmistautuminen alkoi täällä Helsingin päässä meikillä ennen kuin hyppäsin autoon kohti juhlakaupunkia.
During this summer and the beginning of this fall, we’ve had so many lovely weddings I even can’t keep up anymore. It was exactly one week ago, when we got to be a part of the wedding celebration of M’s sister who is actually very dear to both of us. On Saturday, my preparation started with a makeup session after which I jumped into a car to head towards Porvoo.

Myönnettäköön, ettei tämä otos (toisin kuin postauksen muut kuvat) ole aivan viime viikonlopulta kuitenkaan. Päätin silti liittää kuvan postaukseen, sillä mun hääjuhlien asuna toimi tuo sama farkkurotsin alta pilkottava mekko. Tykkään siitä tosi paljon, ja vaikka itse sanonkin, on mekko myös kerännyt jo ihan mukavan määrän kohteliaisuuksia. Parempia kuvia mekosta löytyy tästä ja tästä postauksesta!
I have to admit this picture (unlike other photos in this post) isn’t from last weekend though. I however decided to include this one as the dress peeking under my denim jacket is the one I wore for the wedding. I absolutely love this ASOS dress and hope you don’t mind me saying that I’ve also received several compliments for it. In case you’re interested, more pictures can be found here and here!

Hääparille, heidän perheilleen sekä kaasoille ja bestmaneille juhlat kestivät perjantaista sunnuntaihin. Myös me M:n kanssa päästiin nauttimaan häähumusta kokonaiset kolme päivää. Juhlapaikkana toimi suloinen Boutique Hotel Onni, ja ylläoleva kuva on itse asiassa napattu sunnuntaiselta brunssilta. Mehän yövyttiin Onnissa aikaisemmin heinäkuussa, ja silloinkin hotellin aamiainen oli ihan vimpan päälle (ahh noita croisantteja).
For the wedding couple, their families as well as the bridesmaids and the bestmen, the celebration lasted from Friday to Sunday. So also M and I got to enjoy the festivities for three whole days. The couple had chosen the charming Boutique Hotel Onni as their venue, and the above picture is taken during our brunch on Sunday. As a matter of fact, M and I spent a night at Onni in July, and it was also then I really liked the breakfast (oh my those croissants).

Ihanaa Porvoota! Meidän piti palata tähän kauniiseen kaupunkiin jo nyt viikonloppuna, kun tarkoituksena oli suunnata mun isän mökille Porvoon saaristoon laiturinnostopuuhiin. Tuulta oli kuitenkin venematkan kannalta turhan navakat 19 metriä sekunnissa, ja viikonloppureissu siirtyi vasta äsken, siis ihan viime hetkillä myöhemmäksi.
Here’s a little glimpse on Porvoo! We were actually supposed to return to this beautiful city already this weekend as we were planning on taking the boat to my dad’s summer house to lift up the pier for the winter. But as the wind was as brisk as 19 meters in a second, we had to cancel the trip quite last minute due to challenging weather conditions.

Kuhunkin juhlapöytään oli jaettu tyhjä kirja, jonka sivuille sai jättää terveisiä hääparille. Meidän porukka intoutuikin sitten kirjoittamaan lokia juhlan tapahtumista ja illan etenemisestä, sopivasti huumorilla höystettynä. Kukin merkintä alkoi tarkalla kellonajalla (vaikkapa klo 16:53) ja päättyi lokityyppisesti sanaan loppu. Meidän morsianhan tunnetusti rakastaa puheita, joten myös näitä referoitiin kirjaseen. Ajateltiin siitä jäävän parille kiva muisto!
The bride and groom had made sure there was an empty book in every table so us guests could write down some words for them. It didn’t take long until our group had started writing a log about the evening, with a touch of humour of course. Each note started with an exact time (like 4:53 pm) and ended with a word loppu (meaning an end in Finnish). It’s a known fact that our bride absolutely loves speeches, so we also summarised most of them on paper!
